Hernando Reflects – Episode 1: An Interview with Blake Edrington Bell and Andrea Hedick Read (2021)

Blake Edrington Bell and Andrea Hedick Read are inspired by the rich history of the Chinsegut Hill Manor House and rightfully so. Both Bell and Read are descendants of the owners of the historical home built in 1851. The #Chinsegut Hill Historic Site is a stately three-story manor house poised atop one of Florida’s highest hilltops. It is the centerpiece of a 114-acre estate surrounded by ancient Spanish moss-draped oaks and natural habitat.

Bell and Read’s grandfathers came together from South Carolina to make Brooksville their new home. For the past 170 years, these two families have remained an integral part of leading our community. Bell donates his time by serving on the Board of the Tampa Bay History Center, which manages the Chinsegut Museum. Read is spearheading efforts to create a comprehensive walking tour of historic downtown Brooksville in coordination with Brooksville Main Street.
